Wandervogel Tour 2006: 14/9 - 18/9. View photos here!
SWE/GER, Wednesday, September 14:th 2005. Sweet Addiction met up with Jonk, Joel and Otto the driver outside the Alleycat office in Gothenburg. It was early morning and soon we were heading through Denmark, Germany and finally reach Barlin. A couple of hours later we drove into Puttgarden in the north of Germany. Joel and Otto were steady behind the wheels. At nine in the eavning we drove into Berlin, got ourselves some beers at a local gas-station and found Dunckerstrasse, were the club for tommorow's gig were located. We parked the car, bought pizza, drank lovely German beer and got drunk. The Dunckerclub was a nice gothic place. Then Sweet Addiction met up with some friends from Gothenburg and took off to a rockclub called Magnet. We slept tight that night...
GER, Thursday, September 15:th 2005. Gigday! Woke up at 12.30, put our shoes on and spent the afternoon walking around in a sunny Berlin. A great city, filled with nice little anarchist cafés and Turkish Dönerplaces. We drank some coffe, talked trash and walked some more. Then we bought beers and whisky, had a pizza and waited for The Movements and the Alleycat-crew to show up. Around five, we gathered at the Dunckerclub, and started to get prepared for tonight's show. A UK show-off, shitty band thought they were the stars of the evening. We just laughed at them. Royal cunts! Then we were supposed to go to this nice Italian restaurant, so Otto the driver and the Sweet Boys drove around in Berlin, but got lost and spent about one hour on the Barlin-strasses. When we finally found the place, it was packed. We got a small table and started eating. Pizza, grilled vegetables and cold-cut, different kinds of pasta and Italian coffe with desert. Magnificant! Then we signed the wall like all the other bands that had been there. Two or three hours later Sweet Addiction entered the stage and gave die Germans a show they'll never forget. A great response indicated a job well done. Then we drank all the free beers we got from the club. Then we went to our apartment and Jacob gave Axl a hand-job, told him a erotish bedtime-story and we all fell asleep.
GER, Friday, September 16:th 2005. Woke up pretty early in our worn down, East-german apartment. Got shaped up and we went for some food. Then we drove of to Checkpoint Charlie - the ol' time border between East and West Berlin. Killed some time by doing some bargain with the russian souveneir-shops. Axl tried to get hold of a bust of Lenin. No luck. After some sightseeing we head of to Wutha and tonight's gig. While on the highway, we got busted by the German police force. They checked our luggage, visitated us and forced us to lie. We spent about seven hours on the road and got to Wutha by 8 pm. The venue, JH Crocodile, was located in the middle of nowhere. But after soundcheck, the place started to get crowded, and at 10 pm. when Sweet Addiction hit the stage, the place was packed. A great show and the audience seemed to like it. Next band on stage were Pennybridge pioneers The Pricks. Brilliant! Sweet Addiction got drunk on the alcohol backstage. 3:rd band on stage, The Accidents, did also a good show. But eaven if we all would have played at the same time, it was nothing compared with the show of the local German heroes, Dean Dirg. Top-5: best gigs ever witnessed. Then we played fussball (The Pricks vs. SA-rudeboys = 4 - 10), drank beer, shit for money, lied, tased Accident's white lightning, threw up, destroyed some stuff and drove of to the afterparty. We went to the house of a girl named Judith and drank more. Weak memories...
GER/SWE, Saturday, September 17:th 2005. Woke up in Judith's jacuzzi. Was still drunk. She gave us breakfast and were really nice. We stole her towels and drove home! But on our way out of Wutha, we found three hichhiking scout girls on the road. We gave them lift and a hard time. Then we stopped to get some liqour to bring back to Sweden. It was fun! And cheap! Slept about three years. Then we were back in Gothenburg. Jacob, Axl and dedicated driver Otto went to Sticky Fingers to get a couple of cold ones. It was good to be home.
SWE, Sunday, September 18:th 2005. Woke up, dry as sandpaper, broke and without clothes. Welcome home!
Fuckers Die Tour 2004: 'Sweet Addiction' vs. 'My Deaf Audio', 28/4 - 1/5 & 27/5 - 31/5
SWE, Wednesday, April 28:th 2004. We met up with Andy, Nick, Lofty and Mike from My Deaf Audio at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg. Jonk had met them earlier on Landvetter Airport and they were soundchecked and ready for tonight's gig at Club Good Head. We had lended the brittish lads our equipment to save them some money. We sat down, drank a couple of beers and talked for some hours before MDA entered the stage. Jolly good gig - then we drank beer...
SWE, Thursday, April 29:th 2004. Had to get up early in the morning. Met up with MDA outside the Good Head office in Gothenburg. We got the Fetgo-van filled with drums, guitars, amps and heads. And eight people. With Lofty behind the wheels, we took of for tonight's gig on FestiValborg in Örebro. We were on our way and the van seemed to work fine. But just outside Floda we saw smoke coming out of the engine. We had to pull over and get the engine filled with water and oil. Once again it looked allright. For a minute. Then the van exploded...
After one hour of discussion, we decided to call some friends for backup. After some time our saviours Johan and Johanna came with two cars. We left the van and continued our journey to Örebro. We arrived five minutes to eight - we were supposed to play at 8 P.M. A very short soundcheck, and a very bad gig. Well, we played a big stage with about 35 people in the audience. When we were finished MDA entered the stage. Halfway through the gig, Nick broke his bass-guitar in two pieces. Then we got drunk, and I truely believe Örebro never will be the same again. In the morning, on the 30:th of April, after a night filled with adventures, Jacob got arrested for running around naked in a parking-lot. A couple of weeks later he recieved a letter and a paycheck - 5000 SKr in depts to police and what not. A fine ending of a lovely evening...
SWE, Friday, April 30:th 2004. Woke up at 6 P.M and it was Valborg. Got together with My Deaf Audio, Jonk, Marcus and Kalle from Good Head to celibrate Valborgsmässoafton in Gothenburg. We split early, to get some sleep for next day's gig in Kalmar...
SWE, Saturday, May 1:st 2004. Happy 1:st of May, long live the workers day! Met up with MDA outside Jonk's appartment in Gothenburg. Andy had disappeared the night before. Thought about passing Gothenburg City for some 1:st of May demonstrations. Didn't have the time... Got the cars filled and left for the Good Head office to pick up a lost brittish bloke. Then we head of to Kalmar for tonight's gig at Monokrom. A couple of hours later we met up with Sebastian, who had set up the gig. After soundcheck and dinner, we went to see the opening-act - a band from Kalmar with the singer from Gothenburg's 'When We Fall' on bass. Can't remember their name, but they played some emo-stuff that sounded really good. At a quarter past nine, we entered the stage and made a great show. At least in my opinion. It was as well the grande finale of MDA time in Sweden, and they did a splendid last gig. After we got our cars packed, we went to buy beer and food at the local 7 Eleven. Sebastian had arranged a great feast in his home when we arrived. Can't really remember anything else...
SWE/GBR, Wednesday, May 26:th 2004. The four members of Sweet Addiction met up at the trainstation in Gothenburg, fairly well equipted and ready to show Great Brittania how to play Nordic Rock n' Rollah. After a short ride to Säve Airport, just outside Gothenburg, we checked in and sat down for a refreshing beer, waiting for time to go. There were no chance mistaking us for musicians, as Peter had checked his snaredrum as hand-luggage. After one and a half hour of airtime, we landed safely on Stansted Airport outside London. We had to sleep on the airport, to take the train to York the following morning...
GBR, Thursday, May 27:th 2004. Woke up early and ran of to the train which would take us to York. Fell a sleep, pissed and broke bacause the train tickets costed us more than we thought. Once in York we got picked up by the MDA-van - a lovely car with beds and comfort seats. After a sightseing downtown the alleys of York, we unloaded the equipment at tonight's place, Certificate 18. After soundcheck, we went to buy food for the evening's barbeque. Food is very cheap in England. Everything else is for the rich conservatives. Even though the Certificate 18 was far beyond filled with people, both Sweet Addiction and My Deaf Audio did good concertes. We tried out the new song 'God Has A Hard-On (For Marines)' and dedicated it the Brittish troups in Iraq. The audience gave no response. Bloody conservatives. The rest of the evening contained soccer, beer, hamburgers, crisps and ended up in Russian Vodka-drinking in the van...
GBR, Friday, May 28:th 2004. After a Royal Brittish Breakfast, we head of to Lincoln and tonight's gig at Bivouac. A couple of hours later we met up with Steve, who had set up the gig. Steve was a really nice guy, giving us a royal introduction in the Brittish kitchen backstage. After food we recieved a phonecall from our rodie Johanna. We have knowed her since the band started seven years ago, so she's been with us all the time. She and Axl's girlfriend Linnéa were at the trainstation in Lincoln. Went to pick them up, and they were now the merch-girls. First band out this very evening were a great local act called 'Stabbed in Autumn' - a hardcore/grind piece, very much influenced by Swedes like 'Nasum' and 'Raised Fist'. Fourty minutes later, soundchecked and ready, Sweet Addiction showed the audience how to play rockmusic. It might have been our best gig ever. Very pleased with the gig, we sat down for some beers, planned the night in the streets of Lincoln, but ended up in the van drinking Russian Vodka. (Live pictures from Lincoln can be viewed in the Media Section and video-clips from the van will soon be avalible...)
GBR, Saturday, May 29:th 2004. "Bad weather, worse food... Welcome the England!" Had a real bad English Breakfast in Lincoln. Jacob, Axl and Nick woke up in the van, with a humungus hangover. Cured it with Brittish potatoes, beans, sausages n' eggs. Blah. Talked with a old man over a cup of tea. He was old, he liked young girls and he had a computer. A jolly Brittish bloke, indeed! We got sober, met up with the others and went to Worcester. Johanna and Linneá took the train, 'cause the van was filled. Arts Workshop in Worcester was a big place with no age-limit. That meaned many young girls. About 14 years. First band out was some violent local act. The singer sat his Gibson-uculele on fire and pissed on his 15.000 £ amplifier. Good or anus? We didn't know what to say...
Second act opend as usual with the main theme from Clockwork Orange. What song could better fit those four, well dressed men who makes the streets unsafe? And we made one good job. It became a real horror-show. 14 yeared girls glued to the walls, begging us to stop this horrible Scandinavian machine. But we got them to dance allright. After watching MDA, we drank our beers, packed the van (or was that after we got home?) and ate fish n' ships for the very first time. Some lady asked: Do you want PEACE?. Response: Yes, that would be great! And all our world got was some green pudding all over my chips. Bloody conservative. The fish tasted like shit as well. Then we went to a place downtown Worcester. There we met some the people from the night's gig. Nick, Andy, Lofty and Mike from MDA and all the HC-guys among others. We had a great time out, danced and feasted. Ended up in this guys (with XXX carved on the inside of his lip) car playing The Haunted for the Brittish Empire. Then Johanna got a astma-attack and somebody wanted to kill her, and the ambulance came and Peter had to sleep outside the van, and Jonatan masturbated in the bushes with a porno mag before the gig and Axl got laid for the first time... but that's all another story.
GBR, Sunday, May 30:th 2004. Even though we woke up and it was a sunny day, we didn't feel any sunny at all. It's not even a good name for a day. Went fast and furious to next, and last stop on this UK-adventure - The Park in Peterborough. Got another fish with salted chips. But this one was worse than yesterday's. Back in the Park we got some sound in our amplifiers and checked the sound. Waited for some people to show up, but no one came. Sweet Addiction got dressed for succes and were just about to hit the stage, when the booker said that he had forgot to put out posters. Fucker. Undress, re-pack and go to the airport. The plane back to Sweden wasn't supposed to leave until early in the morning. Another night for the boys on the airport...
GBR/SWE, Monday, May 31:th 2004. Got some minutes of sleep before we had to buy sovenires. We bought a bathtub-duck for 2 £ on the airport as a memory from the UK. Axl had this duck, a bag of pedals and cables, some worn out clothes and a porn magazine in his hand-luggage. No wonder the police doubble-checked this madman! It took about 20 minutes, then he was a man free to go. We bought some Scottish Whiskey, drank it in little cups and back in Sweden Jacob couldn't get into the country 'cause of a broken passport. Swedish wankers...
